I got this for my 1yr old nephew. I was glad I went with the bigger size so he can enjoy it for years to come. Very bright and colorful heavy duty. I was worried it would not be an attention grapper, but it definatly is. I thought it would be anoying, nope kids and adults enjoy it. Best part no battaries required! This is going to be my go to gift for all the little kids in my life.

The best part:

Its simplicity and soothing sound (no batteries, no flashing lights, no annoying music) make for a refreshing change from the other baby/toddler toys being marketed at us these days. Just brightly colored plastic beads cascading down the stick, with a very soft sound = visual and audio stimulation for the baby that doesn't get on our nerves.

Fun for the whole family:

We purchased this as a Christmas present for our 10-month old daughter, but the whole family (including her 3-year-old, my husband, myself and our cat) love this rainmaker. Our daughter is too little to hold the rainmaker and turn it over, but she loves to roll it on the ground and watch the beads tumble about inside. She is completely mesmerized by the falling beads when we hold it for her (as are the rest of us - there's something slightly hypnotic about it). Her older brother can use it properly, and my husband has declared it his favorite of all the toys our kids have received this Christmas. I'm glad we got this larger size one instead of the smaller size.

Quality:

This is plastic, but seems well-made and durable. It has certainly survived quite a few drops onto the floor. I checked for cracks in the plastic, and there were none.

Overall:

A welcome addition to our collection of musical toys!

I ordered Safety Wire pliers and received a tool which was asymmeterical and would not properly close, cut or lock. I called the third-party vendor and complained and was told I could send them back, which I did. I have yet to hear anything more.

I bought these because I am disabled and have been trying to learn to do different crafts and just basic playing around with building things. I remembered a friend of mine (An airplane mechanic) had a pair of these (Not this brand) to twist wire together. If you are looking for a cheap pair of twisters this is a good product... however the design of the lock doesn't hold very well under tension (it tends to come loose at very inopportune times). However since I am not a professional it will work for the small rinky-dink projects I bought it for. I would suggest going with one of the more expensive types that would have a little better locking mechanism on them.

This is fair product. If I was going to use this product regularily, I would have bought a better version. This is a cheap Chinese model. It looks like it may have been made in a garage and it is difficult to use. But, it was a low price.

I own several Gerber knives and they have all been excellent. This one is the perfect size to carry in your pocket or keep in your vehicle. Built to last, solid and strong. It's also a great gift idea for the holidays.

FYI...The specs on this knife aren't exactly right. The weight and other specifics provided indicate it's the LST (weight 1.2 oz) but no length is provided. When it arrived I realized it's the Ultralight LST (about half the size). The price difference is pretty slight between the two but I've had an LST for years and it's been sharpened away to a nub. I thought for under 7 bucks this was a great time to get a replacement. I was very disappointed when I opened the box to reveal the Ultralight model. Return shipping is about half what I paid for the knife so I might as well just hang onto it.

I'm a nondrinker and I use mine for making iced coffee drinks rather then coctails, It works wonderfully for that, as in it fucntions perfectly well and as a boston shaker should.

On the other hand, I find the cocktail recipies on the side to be an excessive ammount of printing for such little use. It doesn't effect functionality, but its just not pretty. I would assume that most people who go to the bother of making cockatils at home have their own recipies and don't need the ones cluttering up the sides of this thing.
